Radiology Technologist - Part Time

Salem Medical Center is looking for Part Time Radiology Technologists to join the team!The responsibilities of the Radiology Technologists include:
-Performs procedures according to departmental protocol as established by Radiologist(s); understands procedure preparation for general radiology.
-Presents examination education to the patient prior to the exam, gives post procedure instructions pertinent to the exam performed.
-Interviews the patient to obtain patient's medical history or important information regarding the nature of the exam being performed; documents that information appropriately.
Maintains room suppliesand roomcleanliness.
Make sure the inventory is stocked with proper supplies.
-Critiques images prior to submitting for interpretation.
Monitors film quality; maintains film repeat rate of 5 percent or less.
-Utilizes appropriate film markers (i.
e.
:
Mitchell Markers, scout film, time, portable stickets, etc.
)-Utilizes shielding/collimation to minimize patient radiation exposure, complies with Radiation Safety Procedures and ALARA principles; monitors own radiation exposure.
Transports mobile x-ray equipment to ER, patients rooms and surgery.
-Assists the radiology manager with departmental Quality Assurance.
-Demonstrates the ability to take patient vital signs when appropriate and ability to properly administer oxygen as appropriate.
-Checks BUN/Creatinine values per departmental protocol.
-Is able to identify and respond to a contrast reaction; is familiar with drug box, location of crash carts and intubation equipment; is familiar with procedure for calling a code.
-Initiates applicable Risk Identification Reports and reports-Has knowledge of institutional conscious sedation policy.
-Performs all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology either hospital based or college degree program.
Experience:
Radiology Technologist experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates:
NJ State License required.
ARRT and/or Advanced ARRT preferred.
AHA BLS or equivalent Recommended Skills Basic Life Support Quality Management Radiologic Technologist Patient Assessment Procedural Sedation And Analgesia Health Physics Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
